Rethinking High Frequency Word Instruction: Part 1

This is part one of a two-part series. In this part, viewers will learn facts based on current research around the 5 most common myths about high-frequency words. The goal of the learning in this series is to leverage effective instructional routines for teaching high-frequency words. In Part 1, you will learn how to explain the differences between sight words and high-frequency words, how to identify high-frequency words based on their decodability, and how orthographic mapping is connected to teaching high-frequency words.
